I make wheelthrown functional pottery and handbuilt sculptural wallhangings. I enjoy each type of work because of the one of a kind nature of most of my work.  I  believe expression and visual interest through talent, clay and the firing process are most important.

I have always loved working with clay so I attended Owensboro Community College for a semester to get reacquainted with throwing. I enjoyed this very much and continued to play with it for several years, when time permitted. 

In 2000 I set up a little studio in my garage and got down to serious work.  With time, my skill level increased and I began to see commercial success. I read all the trades and went to workshops taught by nationally known potters and ceramic artists. 

By 2004 I had outgrown my studio and began to plan for a new location.  I built my current studio and worked there while building a home at the same location. 

 Starting in January of 2007 I decided to branch out into the art of making firepaintings and sculptural works in clay.  I still very much love functional work in pottery but my new work is more about self-expression. 

It has been a lovely journey and meeting others with similar interest is really a wonderful addition.  You are always welcome to come see what going on at the studio.
